“Seriti” is the proud home to one of the most experienced crew in Sumatra, operating trips to both the Mentawai & Banyak Islands since 2000. A large and spacious 25m aluminium vessel that was originally built in the USA but has since been customised for surf charter trips. Sleeping 12 passengers (in 2 large air conditioned bedrooms), guests have a common area inside (a/c) as well as at the rear of the boat where there is a huge shaded deck area as well as an additional top deck (also shaded) to sit back and watch your mates get slotted in between surfs.

We should of never been granted permission to set foot on those beaches. Only boats and limited. Glad i got 2 trips in before year 2000.
Nice vidio. Sailed in the arvo for a first time blown out surf session. Best blown out waves ever surfed. Next morning i shat my trunks thanking god i was goofy. 97, no camps, only boat.
Paddled from the boat. Nobody wanted it. Solo sessions first time out there, double over head green dreamy perfection. Most memorable session of my life. Place can be thick and scary. Good job bro.

How consistent is te bags? Looks like a fun spot or does it need larger swells?
It's more of a magnet than the waves on simeulue if the peak is 4 foot most of the time tepak is six foot, south west or west swell. It's a strange kind of wave because it opens up on some and almonds on others, it can get perfect. But if it's a huge swell there are waves on simeulue that would be worth missing out on the extra few foot of swell for. Busung bay and a couple far north

Because it's close to the equator the wind will go onshore every day ... sometime. Then go back offshore later maybe. The guy said it's often onshore in the mornings then goes offshore at lunch but that sounds a bit weird. Usually it's offshore in the mornings, goes onshore all arvo then rains and it's offshore before dark (not always).

hows consistency in the offseason ? planning march vs july. Ideally july but might have to settle with march
It can be pretty inconsistent in the low season (October to April) best bet is May to September
planning trip over in the offseason, im guessing March is hit or miss, any experience with trips in march recently that have been good or bad?
Its a roll of the dice. Winds tend to be favorable but you could be unlucky & get some onshores. First real swells of the season tend to roll in at that time, but you'd want to stay for 2 weeks to give yourself the best chance of scoring. March is a good season for the beach breaks though which can turn on.
This one has been on my bucket list for over 20 years now. Ever since two friends went and camped out there in the late 90's. Gotta make it happen soon.
Its a fun wave for sure. Not quite the same wave it used to be back in the 90's (due to one of the big earthquakes, I think 2005) but non the less a quality set-up still & relatively uncrowded.

You have to be fuckin kiddin me right!! One of your guides burnt me on the wave of my life at rifles. I cartwheeled through the barrel hit the reef, got cut up and he did not give a single fuck!!! When I paddled and said what was that about. All he said “was that you?” I honestly saw him to it 5 more times and to people of his boat
